Fleas are very
small to look at but can really be dangerous
to you and your pet’s health. They sting
you in the skin and suck the blood out and
the poison from their sting spreads into your
veins. You need to take severe measure in
order to prevent flea breeding in your home
or in your vicinity. For this, one of the
most initial and the essential step would
be of keeping the environment and surrounding
clean of garbage and rubbish.
Flea bites are too painful and causes sores
to erupt in your skin and the worst of all
bleeding does not gets stopped easily due
to the anti-coagulant present in the saliva
of the insect which does not allow blood coagulation.
This free flow of blood without stoppage can
create serious problem and especially to your
pets and small children. There are basically
three kinds of fleas that bite humans including
cat flea, dog flea and human flea.
Flea bites causes reddening of the skin, sores,
itching, rashes, hardening of the skin and
it may even result into the swelling and bleeding
from the sores. You can use home remedies
for fleas as well as insecticides in order
to stop their infestation into your household.
Different people have different bodily reactions
to the flea bites and thus the different treatment
is required for them. The most prone areas
of body where flea normally attacks are legs,
ankles and arms and you can even see the sting
point on the skin. Scratching the skin area
where you have flea bites is strictly prohibited.
Some of the points you need to consider in
order protecting your self from the poisonous
flea bites:
1) First and the foremost keep the skin fresh
and clean. Wipe out the area of bite with
some antiseptic lotion or soap in running
water. Avoid using warm water since it may
cause the sore to burst open and start bleeding.
2) Do not scratch the area as it may cause
bleeding and spreading of infection further.
3) Apply some antiseptic crème or lotion
so as to reduce the swelling.
4) Apply a steroid cream such as hydrocortisone
which helps in reducing the inflammation and
itching in the skin. You can also use lactocalamine
lotion which is the best option for reducing
all kinds of skin inflammations and allergies.
5) Itching can be very intense so you can
consult the physician and take some oral medicine
to soothe it down.
