Natural and easy ways to get rid of fleas
Most commonly found
in pets, their beddings, carpets, soil and
some other dark areas, keeping a check on
fleas can be a big problem for a household.
A flea bite can cause inflammation of skin
and can also cause harmful diseases. So, it
is essential to keep your pets and surrounding
free from fleas to ensure a safe and healthy
living. Following these steps will eliminate
fleas naturally without making use of much
of chemical products.
1. Short coat – It is always better
if your pet has short hair for it becomes
easier to find fleas in short hair than long
hair. Also, in short hair fleas hardly get
any place to hide themselves. Flea comb can
be used to identify the fleas if there are
any.
2. Outside or inside – Try to keep the
bedding of your dog inside the house as this
will reduce his contact with soil, where fleas
hide themselves. Fleas generally lay their
eggs in soil where they survive and wait for
the right temperature for hatching. Therefore,
keeping your pet indoors would help you to
avoid flea eggs in your house.
3. Bedding – Bedding of your pet is
one of the places in your house where you
will find most fleas. You can either purchase
a new bedding or simply wash the bedding in
extremely hot water by adding a little of
eucalyptus or lavender oil. This is another
step for natural flea control.
4. House – Vacuuming the house is essential
to eradicate fleas from the corners of the
house along with carpets and other places
where they can hide. Spray a low irritant
surface spray near skirting boards in the
entire house. Also, spray it near your dog’s
bedding but not over it because this is more
of an insect treatment than to treat fleas,
but it surely helps a little. This will prevent
cockroaches and spiders.
5. Bathing your pet – Once you have
made sure that the bedding and house is clean
now comes the turn for the pet itself. Bath
your pet frequently with lukewarm water and
use only an insecticidal shampoo. Wash it
twice and then apply a good conditioner. A
clean pet reduces the risk for fleas considerably.
6. Feeding your pet – Another step for
natural flea control is that a healthy pet
gets rarely caught up in troubles relating
to fleas and other diseases. Feeding your
pet with healthy and natural food is important.
You can also mix around two cloves of garlic
or Brever’s east to their food to keep
fleas away.
7. Outdoor control – Limit the contact
of your pet with other animals and check it
for fleas even after brief meeting.
