Sand Flea and its Bite

from clusters of small terrestrial crustacean
commonly called sand flea. This small insect
is shrimp-like creature and is found in colors
ranging from pale to dark brown. It has long
legs which it use for jumping till the height
of 2 feet and therefore their bites are commonly
found around the ankle area. They usually
feed on organic and decaying plants and are
found in clusters near wetlands, swamplands,
creeks and lakebeds. Sand flea bites you to
suck blood like mosquitoes do. Its saliva
gets involve to the blood after they bite
which makes blood thinner so that it gets
easily sucked by them. Because of the mixing
of their saliva into the blood after they
bite, irritation occurs in our body. Sand
flea is small parasite and annoying creature.
Their bite is quite painful in spite of their
size. With a pain, it causes red and itchy
rashes on the affected surface of your body
which continues for prolong period. In severe
cases, the person gets fever. The welts or
swollen rashes occurred by its bite is extremely
troublesome. If the infected area is scratched
further, the infection possibly gets spread
and can turn into wound causing redness, itching
and swelling.
The process of controlling sand flea and the
ways of treating flea bite is very similar
to that of mosquitoes. If the reaction of
its bite is pertaining for a longer period
of time, the person needs to get medical treatment
for that. The most important way to protect
you from its harmful bite is to get rid of
fleas. Avoid going to that area where the
clusters of these nuisance creatures are present
or you can wear shoes to prevent yourself
from its bites.
It is a most perilous parasitic creature which
attaches itself to the flesh or scale of the
hosts and resides on it by devouring the animal.
The most common targets of these sand fleas
are small fish, sword fish, star fish, sun
fish and even bigger fish like whale.
Normally sand flea attacks its host only in
particular area, this remains other parts
of the body unharmed. Their presence on an
animal body can be confirmed by the appearance
of whitish glossy substance on their body.
Sand fleas attack its host and makes entrance
through the area near eyes, anus and dorsal
fins. Once it gets enter into the membrane
of other creature, it sucks blood and eats
their flesh thus proves fatal for them.

get relieve from its effect or you can seek
medical treatment in extreme cases.
